About this event

High-impact practices (HIPs) are teaching and learning practices that research has shown to provide significant educational benefits for students, including those historically underserved by higher education—when done well, the literature is quick to emphasize. This session spotlights how the English department implemented six HIPs at scale (reaching over 10,000 students in the Fall semester for Gen Ed courses alone!) and did it well enough to be recognized by the USG with the Regents’ Award for Excellence in High-Impact Practices and Experiential Learning. If you are interested in Capstone Courses and Projects, Global Learning, Internships, Service Learning and Community-Based Learning, Undergraduate Research, or Writing Intensive Courses, this session is for you!
