Miseducated

About this event

A story of resilience, mentorship, and the power of young voices to change the conversation – and the world.

By Rudi Goblen

Based on the book by Brandon P. Fleming

Commissioned and developed by Alliance Theatre

Directed by Teo Castellanos

Inspired by Brandon P. Fleming’s memoir, MISEDUCATED places the audience in a high-stakes world of debate, memory, and self-discovery. As a group of exceptional high school students from Atlanta prepares to compete in an elite Harvard debate program, their coach, Brandon, demands excellence—pushing them to sharpen their voices, their arguments, and their sense of purpose. But as his students prepare for the national stage, Brandon finds himself pulled into a surreal debate with the universe itself, where his past and present collide.

Told through electrifying debate rounds, music, and spoken word, MISEDUCATED is a story of mentorship, resilience, and the radical possibility to rewrite your story.
