Coffee, Sweets & Mulch: Edgewood Community Work Day

About this event

We’re shaking things up this month! 🍁

Join ONE's Community & Belonging Committee and the Toomer PTA for Edgewood’s Coffee and Sweets meet-up at the Edgewood Garden on SUNDAY, 11/8, from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m.

We’re shifting a few things for November: moving our usual Saturday gathering to Sunday, swapping traditional donuts for a fresh spread of other breakfast sweets like cinnamon rolls and Diwali treats (they’ll be good, we promise!), and trading our typical trash pickup for a special community project.

This month, we'll focus on spreading mulch along the path connecting Hardee to the Trolley Line Trail. The Toomer PTA (with grant-writing support from Go Georgia ) received a mini-grant to celebrate Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day on November 18, and we want this route spruced up and ready in time! Many Toomer families (including the Bike Bus crew!)) use the trail to get to school, and a mulched path will make it much safer and easier for kids walking to and from Toomer.

Join us at the Edgewood Garden at 9:00 a.m. to kick off the morning with coffee, sweet treats, and neighborhood chats. Around 10:00 a.m., we’ll head east down Hardee together to start mulching the dirt path connecting to the Trolley Line Trail!

What to bring & options to help:

• Tools: If you have a shovel, pitchfork, wheelbarrow, or 5-gallon bucket, please bring it along; otherwise, we’ll have extras to share.

• Prefer trash pickup? No problem! We’ll still have trash bags and gloves on hand for anyone who’d rather focus on cleaning up the neighborhood.

Treats will be available while supplies last. If you plan on coming, please RSVP so we can get an accurate headcount . Thanks!

We look forward to seeing you all there! ☺️
