- ➤ Fulton County is asking community members to volunteer for its annual homelessness count (to survey needs and identify service gaps) with street canvassing scheduled in South Fulton on Jan. 22 and in North Fulton on Jan. 23. Atlanta News First

- ➤ Mayor Jim Gilvin celebrated Alpharetta’s progress in 2025 by highlighting upgraded parks, improved sidewalks, and Alpha Loop enhancements while the revised land use plan invited community input — two new City Council members were sworn in on January 5 to guide future growth. Appen Media
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ On Thursday, Jan. 8, Dr. Susan C. Modesitt explained updated cervical cancer screening guidelines in Alpharetta — the new recommendations promote early detection to improve treatment outcomes. FOX 5 Atlanta
- ➤ State leaders have allocated funds to equip every public school with a Narcan kit (over 700 kits have been assembled so far) by the end of next school year so that trained staff can respond quickly if an overdose occurs. Atlanta News First
