Good morning, Alpharetta.

Local robotaxi services in the metro area, including Waymo and May Mobility, are monitoring an incoming ice storm warning set for Saturday afternoon *for safety*.

Riders should check their apps for real-time updates as conditions are expected to affect operations.

Local power companies have mobilized extra crews and inspected substations as they brace for a severe winter storm forecast to bring ice and outages to north Georgia; officials said 90 crews including teams from Florida+ south Alabama are on standby.

Caregivers and family members keeping loved ones with dementia are preparing for an upcoming winter storm by stocking up on food and medications, checking battery backups for essential medical devices, and setting up an emergency plan, according to local Alzheimer’s Association officials (who stress the need for extra caution as services may be delayed).
