GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ After a one-month federal funding freeze ended, 17 cities and counties in Georgia resumed energy projects with nearly $2.6 million from the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant program; a March 14th letter from the Georgia Environmental Finance Authority said local officials could now use the funds as planned. In metro Atlanta, Covington received a grant for EV charging stations and Fairburn was awarded funds for energy audits and building upgrades—meant to cut energy use and fossil fuel emissions. - ➤ Metro Atlanta 911 centers improved their call response times, with many agencies nearly reaching the standard of answering 95% of calls within 20 seconds after facing long delays last year.
