EDUCATION NEWS

  • The U.S. Education Department’s Office for Civil Rights will investigate a complaint filed in August 2024 that alleges antisemitism at several Fulton County schools—including Alpharetta High School—since Oct. 7. The probe will check if the schools met Title VI rules to protect Jewish and Israeli students.  Atlanta News First

HEALTH NEWS

  • Georgia's HIV prevention program—100% funded by the federal government—is at risk if proposed CDC cuts go into effect, which would reduce the state's allocation by $21 million and likely lead to job losses in public health. Experts warn that without federal support, the Department of Public Health will struggle to train staff and prevent new HIV infections while awaiting further guidance.  The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

  • Metro Atlanta hosted March Madness events as local restaurants and bars featured watch parties, drink deals, and games like the Midtown Ball Crawl and BrewDog's Beer Bracket Challenge.
