  • More than 1,500 volunteers rebuilt the new Wacky World playground at Wills Park from March 9 to 14 and March 23 to 25. The community effort was part of a $29.5 million parks bond with about $2 million allocated to the project (including $500,000 in donations) and reflects local pride.  Appen Media

  • HB 1193, the Georgia Early Literacy Act of 2026, offers QBE funding to add literacy coaches in every K-3 public school that could soon benefit Alpharetta classrooms. The Senate is reviewing the measure, and its progress will determine next steps + adjustments statewide.  Atlanta News First

  • Trader Joe’s recalled about 9.9M pounds of frozen vegetable fried rice after glass pieces were found in the meals, the FDA announced, affecting products sold in 43 states including local stores; customers should verify buy dates (Feb. 28 to Nov. 19) before use.  FOX 5 Atlanta
  • In March, as Cerebral Palsy Awareness Month unfolds, two fathers and United Cerebral Palsy of Georgia advocates stress that children with cerebral palsy are dynamic rather than different (a call for community support and inclusion).  FOX 5 Atlanta
  • Extreme pollen counts reached nearly 6,000 on Tuesday, sparking widespread seasonal allergies in north Georgia. Medical experts at Atlanta Allergy + Asthma said tree pollens like pine + oak triggered sneezing and runny nose, and rain may ease discomfort soon.  WSB-TV
