  • Ameris Bank and The Providence Group have partnered with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital to offer an airline gift card from over 365 travel destinations when a $100 ticket is bought today. CRIME NEWS

  • A blue Toyota Corolla was reported stolen on March 29 after a 32-year-old man parked it outside his home following a church event on March 28 (the car had a Nativity sticker and a few religious books) and police classified the incident as a felony.  Appen Media
  • On Tuesday, the Georgia Supreme Court ruled that Fulton County prosecutors may use three recorded jail calls as evidence in the trial of Barron Brantley, who is accused of strangling Clark Atlanta student Alexis Janaé Crawford in 2019+ his calls made to non-lawyer contacts were recorded with an automated notice.  The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

HEALTH NEWS

  • Local OB-GYNs are concerned that Georgia's C-section rate for low-risk first-time mothers is at 27.5%—well above the national average of 25.3%. Two local health systems are taking steps by educating doctors and organizing patient support groups to lower the rate to 25%.  The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
  • Georgia public health leaders said that swift action stopped further spread from three measles cases (all recovered) while warning that misinformation from vaccine skeptics may lower vaccination rates. They added that the Texas outbreak (over 500 confirmed cases, with thousands likely unreported) has spread to nearby states and advise under-vaccinated individuals to consult their doctor.  The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
