  • A 24-year-old home health aide is accused of stealing $25K from patients in the metro Atlanta area — investigators say she used the stolen financial data to fund shopping sprees.  FOX 5 Atlanta

  • Metro Atlanta will host major concerts this summer and fall, including Kesha & Scissor Sisters on August 7 at Ameris Bank Amphitheatre in Alpharetta—showing fans events from rap to rock while other acts like Russ, Chris Brown and Ice Cube add to the lineup—as live music season begins.  FOX 5 Atlanta

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Film and TV production spending dropped 37% in fiscal year 2024 so local towns are exploring film tourism to boost their economies. Lynda Lee Smith from Entertainment Tourism Alliance of Georgia said towns that hosted shows like The Vampire Diaries showed profit potential—and lawmakers are now planning support measures.  The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

HEALTH NEWS

  • Researchers and local officials say that a draft federal budget may cut funds for maternal and infant research in Georgia and slow progress in reducing maternal deaths. The state has improved using both federal and state support — if the cuts are approved, Georgia will need to find its own money to keep studying maternal health.  The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
  • A recent American Lung Association report shows that metro Atlanta’s air quality has dropped sharply in 2025. The report rated Atlanta third-worst for smog in the southeast and found failing ozone and particle pollution levels that may increase health risks — policymakers are urged to take steps to improve air quality.  Atlanta News First
