EDUCATION NEWS

  • Gov Brian Kemp signed a law that bans the three cueing method and Reading Recovery from Georgia schools. The law also requires earlier dyslexia screening and allocates $10 million for literacy coaches — efforts aimed at raising reading skills statewide.  Atlanta News First

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • At their April 28 meeting, Alpharetta Council reviewed a master plan amendment to convert an office building on Westside Parkway into a pre-K and elementary school for Fulton Science Academy serving 600 students, and they raised concerns about traffic impacts—especially on Hembree Road—requesting additional details from the academy’s traffic engineer.  Appen Media
