  • Gas prices have risen nationwide—the national average is now $4.50—while metro Atlanta is near $4, up 24 cents from last week; experts say crude cost and global supply issues are driving the increase.  FOX 5 Atlanta

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Gov. Kemp is set to sign the Georgia Early Literacy Act of 2026, providing school-based literacy coaches and teacher training to boost K-3 reading in local schools. The law will improve students’ reading skills and school readiness in our community.  Atlanta News First
  • Georgia public high schools will ban cellphones starting in the 2027-28 school year (following success in lower grades) as Gov. Kemp said local districts will set enforcement details to keep classrooms distraction-free.  WSB-TV
