ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On Wednesday night, Shirley Sorohan was bitten on her foot by a copperhead outside her Alpharetta home; she received antivenom at a nearby hospital and her husband later killed the snake with a shovel.  WSB-TV

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Giulia Italian Bakery will open in downtown Alpharetta this summer, offering a selection of croissants, sourdough breads (made with ingredients sourced from Italy) and seasonal pastries. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Georgia Department of Transportation announced the I-285 construction shutdown to begin Friday, closing both northbound and southbound lanes between State Route 139/Martin Luther King Jr. Drive (exit 9) and Cascade Road (exit 7) until 5 a.m. Monday, weather permitting.  WSB-TV
