- ➤ Scammers targeted Georgia drivers with text messages that falsely claimed an outstanding ticket and threatened license suspension—officials from the Georgia Department of Driver Services warned that DDS employees never ask for payment or private data through texts. FOX 5 Atlanta
- ➤ Roswell and Alpharetta police arrested a 25-year-old Austell man on May 20 after tracking his vehicle to parks where car break-ins occurred—he was pulled over near Ga. 400 and taken to jail on a felony charge. Appen Media
- ➤ Alpharetta police are seeking a couple seen on surveillance video stealing four pairs of sunglasses valued at $2,599 from an Avalon shop on May 13, when they entered at 2:16 p.m. and left at 2:19 p.m.— the suspects wore gray shirts and black pants, with the woman carrying a large cream-colored purse and the man wearing a black hat. - ➤ Damekion Garlington, 29, who faced life in prison for his role in a large gang case, pleaded guilty to five charges and received a 20-year sentence (five years in prison and 15 years on probation) with nearly three years credited for time served. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
