Good morning, Alpharetta.

After Buford parents Peter and Sonia Nguyen drowned on May 27 in Florida Gulf Coast waters from a rip current, 22-year-old Sara Nguyen became the sole caregiver for her disabled brother and grandmother—an online fundraiser has raised over $4,500 of a $110,000 goal to help cover funeral and living expenses.

On May 27, a Fulton County man, Clarence Earl Jones, was arrested on six counts of animal cruelty after a doorbell camera recorded him dragging and slamming his Cane Corso dog to the ground — authorities are still looking for the missing dog.

Daniela Joy Landin, a Columbian asylum seeker, was held in ICE custody from May 12 after officers raided her Alpharetta apartment and received a $10,000 bond following her hearing on June 4—her husband Richard flew to Texas and said he is ecstatic to reunite with her.

Her attorney said she will likely be released within a day after bond is posted while her pending asylum case continues.
