- ➤ S&S Jamaican Cuisine on Turner Hill Road in Lithonia failed its food safety inspection with a 62 before scoring 84 on a follow-up, while Café Lucia in Smyrna and Spanky’s in Decatur earned 77 and 88 on their re-inspections, respectively. Meanwhile, Minnie Olivia Pizzeria in Alpharetta earned a perfect 100 and won the Golden Spatula award (recognizing top food safety and quality). Atlanta News First

- ➤ The Fulton County school board approved a new rule that bans K-8 students from using electronic devices during school hours for the upcoming school year—this policy now includes middle school students while high school students may use devices only with teacher permission. WSB-TV
- ➤ Georgia's early child care teachers and staff working in Quality Rated facilities are now eligible for a $500 bonus provided by DECAL to recognize their hard work and address recruitment challenges. DECAL says the bonus—part of a $17 million grant initiative—may increase in the future if the program proves successful. FOX 5 Atlanta
