- ➤ Two new murals on Alpharetta’s Alpha Loop were unveiled on Aug. 4, with one showing tangerine koi fish and the other a flock of birds amid lavender clouds—installed on two bridges near the Alpharetta Branch Library. City Councilman Donald Mitchell, who funded the project with over $20,000 from his council stipend, said the art evokes personal memories while artist Alice Stone-Collins hopes it will spark community reflection. - ➤ Moody’s Analytics report found a national housing shortage of 2 million homes, with Georgia facing a deficit of about 35,000 rental units and 41,000 owner occupied homes—conditions that hit the market for middle income earners hardest.
