  • Authorities solved a decades-old cold case—a woman's body found near the Chattahoochee River on May 10, 1984 has now been identified, ending decades of uncertainty.  FOX 5 Atlanta

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Fulton County is facing a lawsuit after firing two Nigerian IT staff who were blamed for a cyberattack caused by a biased American supervisor—resident Omotade Adeniyi said he and his colleague were placed on leave and then fired while similar American staff were not punished. The complaint, filed on Monday, alleges that the county violated the Civil Rights Act by treating them unfairly.  The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
  • At its Sept. 8 meeting, the Alpharetta City Council reviewed a study showing that a tax allocation district for North Point Mall could generate about $390 million over 25 years if Fulton County Schools participates; falling property values have hurt the area. Mayor Jim Gilvin said officials will approach the school district to discuss the numbers—hoping the plan will bring new incentives for redevelopment.  Appen Media
