BUSINESS NEWS

  • Crescent City Kitchen showed off its new dish on September 23 by serving a croissant mixed with a waffle with its special 'crack' seasoning—offering a fresh taste for local diners.  FOX 5 Atlanta

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Fulton Science Academy unveiled its new state-of-the-art athletic facilities on September 17th — a ceremony attended by students, parents, faculty and community leaders. The $12.5 million project added a soccer field, four tennis courts, a field house, an observatory and other spaces — with plans for a fine arts center coming soon.  Appen Media

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The City of Alpharetta will remove 50 trees from Wills Park and Wacky World Playground for stormwater fixes and safety reasons—some trees are in poor condition and will be replaced once work begins when Wacky World closes Sept 29. Work is set to finish in early May as part of a $29.5 million parks bond approved in 2021.  Appen Media

HEALTH NEWS

  • The Georgia Department of Public Health confirmed three new measles cases linked to a case from September 11, bringing the year’s total to 10. Two cases were in unvaccinated individuals while one had an unknown vaccination status, and all are isolating at home—268 close contacts have been identified.  FOX 5 Atlanta

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Alpharetta Raiders won their first game of the season 32-14 on Sept. 19 at home against Forsyth Central as head coach Brian Landis celebrated a win with new team discipline. Linebacker Duke Condie scored his first career touchdowns and quarterback Matthew Schletty threw for 117 yards and two touchdowns—the Raiders will face North Atlanta on Sept. 26.  Appen Media
  • The Alpharetta volleyball team swept Denmark 3-0 at Denmark High School on Sept. 18 — proving that new and experienced players can work well together despite the season’s roster changes. The team, currently ranked No. 1 in Georgia, kept their opponents to low scores and maintained a strong performance throughout the match.  Appen Media
