CRIME NEWS

  • Heritage Elementary School principal Cheryl Parker said a bullet was found near the serving line in the cafeteria and officials are investigating how it got on campus—parents are urged to remind students to report any suspicious behavior.  Atlanta News First

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Tuesday, the USDA and Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Tyler J. Harper announced that Georgia received about $531 million from the Hurricane Helene Block Grant Program to cover future economic, infrastructure, and timber losses from the storm. The funds are part of a $30 billion disaster relief effort approved by the American Relief Act — a plan to help local farmers and rebuild damage — and a grant agreement will be finalized soon.  Atlanta News First
