GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Tuesday, the USDA and Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Tyler J. Harper announced that Georgia received about $531 million from the Hurricane Helene Block Grant Program to cover future economic, infrastructure, and timber losses from the storm. The funds are part of a $30 billion disaster relief effort approved by the American Relief Act — a plan to help local farmers and rebuild damage — and a grant agreement will be finalized soon.
