Good morning, Alpharetta.

General Motors said it will close the Georgia IT Innovation Center in Roswell — a center that opened in 2013 for IT and software work—as part of a plan to restructure its operations and cut hundreds of jobs.

A spokesperson said the change will consolidate its tech teams into targeted hubs for better collaboration.

Portia interviewed financial planning experts Rebecca Davis, Geri Dodson Chandler, and Derrick Murray to explain how to manage money, plan for end-of-life needs, and build generational wealth — advice that helps Alpharetta residents prepare for a secure future.

Food banks across North Georgia, including North Fulton Community Charities in Alpharetta, are preparing for a surge as a federal shutdown continues—over 1.6 million Georgians risk losing SNAP benefits if the situation persists.

They urgently need cash and in-kind donations such as food, hygiene supplies and volunteer support to maintain services for those in need.
