- ➤ American Legion Post 201 will honor veterans on November 8 with its ninth annual car show at its Alpharetta location on Wills Road—featuring free vehicle displays, food and drink, a jump house for children and a raffle to benefit veterans and their families. - ➤ Ansell celebrated the opening of its $2 million demonstration center at 11580 Great Oaks Way on Oct.22, which served as a hub for over 40 local employees with labs and workshops to showcase personal protection equipment. Mayor Jim Gilvin, Councilman Doug DeRito and other city officials attended the event, and CEO Neil Salmon said the center marked an important step in advancing the company’s mission to enhance safety — a move that is expected to drive future innovations. - ➤ Thousands of Georgia children in low-income families risk losing Head Start care when funding expires after Friday, and state early education advocates warn that families will suffer during the federal shutdown delay. To keep programs running, the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta provided an $8 million bridge loan—enough to keep north Georgia classrooms open through mid-December. Atlanta News First
