GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • State lawmakers heard Tuesday about House Bill 812 (which sets strict local permit deadlines and allows the state to override extra local rules) aimed at speeding building permits amid rising home costs. Builders and developers said delays add costs and contribute to homes being too expensive.  Appen Media
  • Alpharetta leaders approved a tax allocation district to help redevelop North Point Mall + the plan calls for thousands of housing units, millions of square feet of commercial space and a possible hockey arena.
