- ➤ Hispanic Heritage Month is observed from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15 to celebrate Latin culture and history and has featured events in metro Atlanta and North Georgia. - ➤ Federal workers in metro Atlanta are worried that Congress will not reach a budget deal by Oct. 1—putting about 60,000 workers at risk of furloughs and delayed pay until a new plan is approved. Atlanta News First
