$2.095 billionprojected from Fulton's 1% school sales tax

The money is for Fulton County Schools and Atlanta Public Schools.

If you voted Tuesday, you faced a long ballot. Georgians picked in the governor's race, U.S. Senate, statewide offices, state House and Senate seats, and local elections, and polls stayed open until 7 p.m.

If you're in Fulton County, your ballot also had a county commission chair race, three board seats and two sales tax questions. One was a 1% for Fulton County Schools and Atlanta Public Schools.

  • : 0.75% extension for projects outside the City of Atlanta
  • Sandy Springs: Redevelopment Powers Act referendum
  • Palmetto: senior property tax exemption

Most Fulton County polling locations closed at 7 p.m. Tuesday, and tabulation was set to begin. The reports we have were written before the results came in, so they carry none.

Hi neighbors!

“I have a feral mama cat and her 4 kittens living in my backyard, and I’m looking for some help! ❤️ The kittens will be 6 weeks old this week and are already eating cat food. I’d love to get mama trapped for TNR and find a rescue or foster homes for the kittens so they can eventually find loving homes. I’ve reached out…”

The Wrap

Hero Boy Sandwich Co. is growing up. The Alpharetta sandwich shop on Mansell Road, which opened in September 2023, has leased a space in Buckhead's Chastain Square for its second location, expected early next year. The twist: its first spot was a former donut shop, and the new one used to be a donut-and-fries place. Dough, meet hoagie roll.
